Annihilator
To my knowledge, Ithaca only produced the M3A1
Got Uzi
That's what I was thinking too was that Ithaca only made M3A1's I would love to see pictures of this gun if this is not the case. There was an M3 Guide Lamp that sold 2 weeks ago on Sturm for $22.7K which I thought would be the new high water mark. It's hard to really get a good feel for them as they don't come up for sale that often. Edited September 7, 2016 by Got Uzi
Junkhunter
Yep it's a A1. Sorry on that I took down his notes and he's getting up there in age. I'm not well versed in these either other then firing a couple. He took 3 dealer offers 14,16,17K. My wallet is getting warm. I'm wondering if should toss in a bid of 17.5.......... jim c 351
Junkhunter,Jump right to 18K. and stop at 22k.M3A1 guns seldom come up for sale.Jim C
Got Uzi
If dealers are offer that you need to keep in mind that they will most likely mark it up 20%-30% so if you offer him $18-$18.5K you'd be into the gun at a fair price to both him and you. M3A1 transferable guns do not come up that often, the only M3A1 seen even less in the transferable form is a Guide Lamp. Make the call and let us know how it goes. Junkhunter
OK thank you. Sorry for the mix up on terminology. I was going 10 different directions yesterday then he called in the middle. He's a nice guy and ready to cash out. We discussed it in the spring didnt expect a phone call. I haven't done my research yet.

Got Uzi
Good luck. What all does it have to go with it?
Junkhunter
9 mags, a spare bolt , sling and some misc small parts. The annoying part is I had a GI flash hider and I threw it in a big box of random parts I sold the local gun show parts dealer after looking at in a box for 15 years on the parts shelf. emmagee1917
GOOD !!! The flash hider's only real job is to remove the finish off the end of the barrel anyway .Chris
Got Uzi
The flash hider for that gun is the easy one to find anyhow. There are two different ones (an early and late style) I was lucky enough to find an early one at Knob Creek this past spring so I have a side by side comparison of them. The lettering is different, the wing nuts is a different type and most noticeable is that the late ones are made of a thinner material. The sling is the same one used on the M1 carbine and on the M3 ejector/cocking housing the oiler that is attached to it is also that used on an M1 carbine. GUNGUY45
We never had the flash hiders on ours, they wouldn't fit in the rack in our tanks with them. M60A1/M60A3.
Junkhunter
I saw it tonight, it is on a Amnesty form still, looks like it was originally med to dark parkering now it's all darker from being handled with a reddish brown hue.The dust cover has a speckling of black paint on it but is also reddish brown patina. No rebuild stamps or any issues I can see. It's clean inside and the action is smooth.
Junkhunter
And it had the flash hinder on it already
Got Uzi
Flash hider comes off by loosening the wingnut on it. I have both the early and late pattern flash hiders and can say that I have never fired my M3 with either of them. I might take it out some evening and see if there is any difference in muzzle flash. RB5082
M3A1 was the first MG I ever shot. It was a Guide Lamp in the 6xx,xxx serial range and had the flash hider. Amazingly simple design and I like how it came apart. Good luck and I hope you get it.
