LIONHART
There OK. Some wear. They have had those for a long time.
nhglyn
Just got mine today and it is almost in mint condition! No wear marks of any kind, not a scratch on the thing.

Gunner
Mine came in today. The ears, ladder, etc. are virtually mint. My only problem is on the bottom of the base -- there's some pitting. I'm debating whether to return it and ask for a better one.
Arthur Fliegenheimer
What sort of finish do these Lyman's have?
TommyGunner
Got mine the other day to hop up my westy 27. The finish was in good shape and there was very little wear, however the sight sits funny on the ladder. (see pics) Seems like the little flat spring on the side that makes it click along the ladder is pushing the sight in a cocked position. If it wasnt for that I would be very happy with the sight. Think I may return it and try to get another. PK.
This is not unusual Damon. You would think they would have been tighter, but many are not. You could take your chances on a return or adjust the one you have.
Gunner
Damon, Any pitting?
TommyGunner
Pk...Thanks...mabe I will just look into adjusting the one I have because it is in pretty darn good shape IMHO other than the sight being a little cockeyed. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif Gunner...Nope no pitting at all. The sight presents itself like the first picture all the way around. The second pic still had all the goop on it. If I can adj the sight to sit straight...I would be very happy with it. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif Damon
Gunner
Arthur (may I call you "Dutch?"), the finish on mine is matte black, I guess it's the dullite you guys have referred to.

Fencer
Recieved my sight this week from IMA. Sight is in very good condition and fully functional. Aside from a couple areas where the finish is a little thin, it looks almost like new.
