roninaz
Hi Guys, I'm a FFL/SOT and know nothing about the Reising I understand there are a few different models to choose from but have no idea what to look for. I want an inexpensive toy and like that they are .45 what is the cyclic rate and brl lenth? Are these things any good? Thank you in advance, Ron
21 smoker
Roninaz,...Welcome aboard...I just started to play with mine,..mod 50,early production, blued w/comp...and I love it.Smooth,...lots of ammo is needed, very accurate for a subgun, easy to control... my next one will be a parked military,no comp cleaning, if you know what I mean,...mags are kinda scarce,...hope for the sunset and buy before the cats out of the bag.KEEPEM`SMOKIN`,out. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
Ron Mills
Cyclic rate is a bit faster than the old Grease Gun, around 500-550. Bbl. is 11 inches...10.5 on the shorty. If you can find one, snap it up!
elmer1007
Frank's book and my test using a pact timer show a cylic rate of over 750-800 depending on ammo. I can use 185 grain SWC target and get a slow rate of fire. otherwise the Reising runs like a scared cat.
Lumpy223
I just installed new Wolf springs in my gun. After speaking with Paul Hayes, he told me that I would see a big difference in the guns performance with the new springs. I do know that there is a whole lot more resistance when cocking back the action bar now. I think I am going to see my ROF increase. I probably wont get a chance to shoot again for another week though. If you guys need any parts, I highly recommend Paul Hayes. A very nice guy who really seems to know his stuff about Reisings. He is working on a new firing pin design made of spring steel which should greatly help out with breakage problems.

subgun45
I own a model 50 and a mdl 55 and like both. Both are reliable and fun to shoot. You should have no problem finding a mdl 50.The 55 is a bit more elusive.I would suggest you buy Franks book about the Reising. It will help you out.The mags are a bit on the high side.Look for some 30 rounders made by Ken Christy.I saw a guy who was working on converting a reising to 9mm at Knob Creek. It used Sten mags. They where also working on a conversion to use grease gun mags.you cant go wrong on the reising..a great gun as long as no one is shooting back at you!!!
