dalbert
Just when you thought there wasn't enough room for another Tommy Gun Club... Now you can get a custom tailored suit to go along with your gold plated, semi-auto Thompson. https://www.thetommyclub.com I should probably post this in the semi forum, but I thought everyone here would like to see it. Vettom
I have spent some time looking at fashions from mid 20s on to mid 30s and as they say what goes around comes around. In cleaning out my parents house I have found some period items like a new silk tie in the box from the 1920s. Several common magazines 1930s that are in very good shape. I found a 1943 Popular Science with a tanker on the cover with a Thompson. I will post a pic. Spats and similar pieces can be found not sure about the quality. I think I can and will recreate as accurate period attire without having to buy a gold 27semi. Just saying, but thanks for posting the info David. johnsonlmg41
Wow, the Austin hipster culture embracing another era. I thought for sure the guns would scare them? Or the background checks might be enough for the more timid to just get the guns with the orange tip and spray paint it gold which is more in line with the hipster budget. reconbob
Years ago I had a conversation with a guy - coincidentally from Texas - and we were discussing the"manufactured collectors item" back when the American Historical Foundation was making an assortmentof gaudy, pimpy, excessively plated and engraved commemorative firearms - and they are still at it!I was making fun of these schlocky guns and he pointed out to me - rightly so - that the people that buythese things think they are buying a piece of history and its very special to them. And the AHF has theirmarket all figured out because they sell out just about every one of these limited edition guns. Now,I would rather own an original but-not-so-great condition Colt SAA as opposed to a gold plated, engravedWyatt-Earp-OK-Corral manufactured collectible, but there are many who would rather own Wyatt Earpand who am i to judge? Adg105200
Interesting video, but it about stops there lol. Each to his own, because as Reconbob said; plenty of people will line up to buy it. Andrew
