Is there a mag loader for Merles 22lr kit ?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me if this loader will work with the Thompson Black Dog Machine 22LR Conversion kit magazines or if they know of a loader that will work with merles Thompson 22lr conversion kit ?

Once I got Merle's kits, manual loading is about the only thing that has kept me from running out of .22LR.

Even so, I would like to find a loader too, so hope someone has information.

For the record, after you get one or more of the 50 round .22 drums, you will lose a lot of interest in loading the 30s.

I made loaders using the Palmetto Armory AR15 22 loaders by shimming them with a piece of hardwood epoxied to the front. The loaders cost 10.00 and it took about 20 minutes to make the wood shims for both. I waxed the wood side.

This loader is a "make from". I started with a loader from "Lucky's Loader " ( http://www.luckysloader.com/handgun/ ) that I bought at a gun show. I milled a slot in the back to fit the BDM stick mag that goes with Merle's .22 conversion kit, and then milled the plunger down to fit between the lips on the mag. It works very well.

Just came from the Phx. SAR show . Bought 4 more Thompson .22 mags and an AR-15 .22 mag loader like the one in Uncle Dudley's post #3 above from Blackdog . Just loaded the mags up . I loaded 20 into each by hand and used the loader for the last 10 . Works very well . Easy to do. I found it easier that when you put the round in and lift the loader so you can push the round fully to the rear , that once it's seated you press the loader down as you gently press on the just loaded rounds nose . This makes it easier to force it down smoothly .
