Orion
Gents, I have half of a shell casing broken off in the camber of my M50 any advice on removing it? Thanks, Andy
ppgcowboy
Have you tried putting a bore brush part way in just past the casing and then reversing direction?
johnsonlmg41
Sten chamber clearing tool. Cerrosafe chamber casting material. Dental pick, dry ice pellet. offset snap ring pliers. Bore brush, but as big a caliber as you can find and stiff. The addition of penetrating oil for a day or two wounldn't hurt either if you are just going to try mechanical methods first. Got Uzi
I know this will sound crazy but its an old SASS trick for getting a broken shell out of a chamber and I have had to use this method twice in the past few months- you will need a lead bullet of the same caliber, a wooden dowel rod (as close to the bore diameter as possible) and a hammer. Take the lead bullet and drive it into the barrel from the muzzle end, using the wooden dowel to run it down the length of the bore. Once the bullet reaches the chamber, the lead will attach itself to the brass and drive on out. I know its crazy but it works.
Orion
Thanks for the replies guys; sprayed WD40 in the chamber let it sit over night and used a .50 cal. brush and the broken piece came out.
