APEXgunparts
We recently received a shipment of USGI surplus Thomson magazines. One nice one caught my attention due to a "V" marking stamped in the body on the front edge down near the floor plate.I have a faint memory of reading somewhere that this "V" for victory was sometimes applied to items being shipped off to US Soldiers in combat theater's.Can anyone confirm this? The "V" has serif's and looks to have been properly stamped.I have not seen one like this before.Richard

APEXgunparts
Thanks for confirming my suspicion and sharing that link to the earlier discussion.I wish I had thought to have my people look for the marking when they sorted ALL the magazines that we received. We just checked condition.I spotted this one in the tray up in the mail order area, initially because it was so nice and not coated with preservative. This example won't be for sale, it will be on display in my office along with all the other odd / interesting things I turn up! If more of these are discovered we will make a listing for them in the "Thompson" category. Richard Edited March 5, 2019 by APEXgunparts
