I've Been Robbed!

Recommended Posts

woke this morning to go make a dollar... walk around my car to get in it and guess what? Drivers side rims/tires gone! Passenger side still there.

The fucking nerve of people! I didn't even make the first payment on this thing yet! $1000 to replace the tires/rims from the dealer!!! CAN YOU SAY PISSED OFF?! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif Oh thanks for leaving me the brick asshole.

Nick,

Sorry to hear/see the result of you being a victim. From experience of either taking the report or following up the complaint, they'll be back to get the other two and possibly the new set as well. More than likely they got spooked or the whole car would be up on blocks (bricks). Do what you can to protect them; wheel locks really do work for the more opportunistic thief. The pros actually take orders for specific wheels/tires and not much will stop them.

Good luck !! It's no fun being a victim.

Chuck

Whether it is illegal or legal, in my mind, it is still robbery! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif Nick,I hope someone nails the scum-bag(s)!!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif Best Regards, Walter

I bought the wheel locks first thing this morning, hopefully the other two will still be there when I get home tonight.

What really kills me is a block away there are some cars with expensive custom rims on them, these were just plain old stock factory rims.

Nick--

That definitely sucks. My mother's vacant house was broken in to twice. I put a new deadbolt on for the second time and found the kitchen door in the backyard. I agree with the other guys, they'll be back for the other wheels. It might be a little trouble, but if you can catch them on surveillance video, that would feel really sweet. Good luck!

I have a short barreled shotgun, and I was looking for a good pet name for it. I caught some people prowling around my house one night..... One of the prowlers named it "Jesus" when he saw and heard it.

Factory rims and tire sets ususally go to auto body repair shops who put out a list of what they are looking for to pro theives...they pay more than going rate...i imagine you have a chop shop, or that mentality of those guys, working in your neighborhood...

the auto body repair shops bill the insurance company big bucks for the replacement and they pay nothin hardly to the professional crooks...

let the local P.D. auto theft guys know...if you have connections...they might just shine you on too...'cause somebody just brought in a fresh box of Krispy Kremes....tee...hee....

You can buy a cheap security camera that will hook up to your computer and turn on when it senses motion. A buddy uses it at his office. Works great. Some are even color videos. Very small also. You can hide it in a window sill and no one would know it's there!

Nick,

That sucks!!

Know the feeling to go out in the morning and find things amiss.

My whole car was stolen. For a few seconds you don't get it, then it sinks in. Violation!

Nick:

Boy, that car sure does (did) look fast! I bet you've violated the speed laws in it numerous times. You're better off. With only two tires, you'll never get a speeding ticket. What with it going around in circles and all....;-)

Seriously, though I am a country cop, I've never worked a TBUT where the car was up on blocks! I thought that was a cliche'.....

Man-o-man that stinks!! This happening before you even make your first payment really stings. The pieces of vile gutless crap who did this will get their just rewards, sooner or later. What comes around, goes around. Being that the car is new, it does make sense that some auto body shop is trying to beat the system for a few bucks. No wonder we pay out the wazoo for insurance. Speaking of "legalized extortion", did your insurance company pay for some new wheels and tires?

They said it falls under my comprehensive... It is costing a tooth over a grand to get the rims and tires. I have to front the money (or wait a week for an adjuster) and then send them all the paper work and wait for a check.

I certainly can't be without my ride for a week so I am paying the money and then waiting on the check. Everything went smooth as far as talking to the police and the insurance people. I put the locking lug nuts on the two remaining rims..

For the first time in my life I wish I had the "Boot" to put over my rim. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

It is good that it is covered, and the insurance company is not giving you a hard time about it. It is unbelievable how much factory wheels and tires are. If the ins. co. did not pay this you would have been screwed by both them and the gutless thiefs. Does the police have any ideas, and have there been a rash of car part thefts lately? Too bad you do not have the "Boot" to shove up the scum's back side.

Sorry to hear this, might look to the guy with the fancy rims- He could have done it or at least surely knowns the best wheel locks ahahahah

Seriously, Maybe put an ad in the newspaper for exactly what was stolen- then .... follow up=> doesn't matter if they are yours or not someone might have to explain where they got them, and the person before that and so on back down the line- If nothing else you can cause so trouble.

Most of us here probably have had similar situations at one time or another...I know that doesn`t take the sting out,Nick...I had a hopped up Olds broke into to get the wheelock key to steal the rims and tires...gave the police the security tape,,,`yep,..there was two of them...with hats...got yer four wheels and tires...`not much help from them...next time caught them redhanded,,,and the perps did 3 years and paid restitution!...I loved those checks coming every month..almost hated to cash them...should have framed them...Nick,you need a `Protected by Machine Gun Administrator`window sticker...they might get the message, http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
