It was everything I could do not to take Tuesday off and test it out, but I somehow managed to hold off until the weekend. Drum had some issues - might have to get ahold of PK or Merle to look it over at some point. While clearing the stalled rounds I was reminded of the difference between closed bolt and open bolt operation - thats why you keep the gun pointed in a safe direction at all times! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif It's going to take some getting used to. As for the gun itself, I had no problems to speak of in Full. In Semi, every once in a while the bolt would slam forward with no reaction. Inspecting the round (using factory new American Eagle) showed the primer was hit - I guess just not hard enough? Also had it send two rounds down range with one trigger pull (in Semi) on one occassion. pca16 Posted April 12, 2005 Report Share Posted April 12, 2005 Very nice report. I have a WH that did the very same thing. I sent it to Nelson Ford in Phoenix and he fixed it. Mine, in semi auto, when it would not chamber a round, worked fine if you sat the mag on your hand when you shot it. Nelson removed the play between the lower and upper and improved the mag catch. Before I spent any money getting someone to fix any problems you may have noticed, I would obtain one of the currently offered parts kits and replace all the internals in the upper and lower receiver/frame. I had the same problem with my 28 West Hurley when I first obtained it. The replacement of a few parts solved all problems - at a very affordable price. I will send it off at some point for re-bluing and possibly some improvements. Like I said though, it's working fine for me now, so I'm in no hurry to send away my new toy yet.
