bootsmotors
I'm new to this site and i hope i'm posting in the right place. I've recently aquired a Serbu BFG-50 that did NOT iclude a bipod. It's an earlier gun and not a picatinny mount that they use now.KInda like a stud mount similar to an M60. I've emailed Serbu and Valerie said they discontinued production of the early bipod. I continue to scour the Web for any leads but have been unsuccessful so far. Anyone know of one for sale or have a solution or another option?
50 Shooter
Have you looked for an M60 bipod for sale? I might have all the parts to put one together but would take a few days to look. I might have another option also, will have to find other bipod and see if it works.
bootsmotors
I've heard that may be an option but not sure if mounting inside diameters are the same. In fact I've seen pictures of m60 bipods mounted on the Serbu but not sure how they're accomplishing that. The stud mikes .695 wide by .765 long. I'm sure a machinist can solve this without much problem. Anything can be done if you throw enough money and time at it . Unfortunately I have little of both. But I'd be open to see what you can come up with. Thanks for your reply, Bob
50 Shooter
The early BFG's used M60 bipods, Mark had trouble sourcing them and keeping up with demand. He started making his own copy, I think they're interchangeable. The I.D. on the M60 bipod I have is about. 790 if I hold the calipers straight. The yoke also has a step to allow for canting the bipod. Total length is .905, length to where its machined for the step is .755.
50 Shooter
I haven't seen what Mark makes now but he and Darin Prince were making bipod together or at least collaborating on them. Darin aka Prince50 made them for Armalite AR-50's for years. I have one of the last style he made for them. The adaptors is replaceable, so someone "could" machine an adapter to fit. You can email me at 50shooterzXXX@XXXgmail.com just remove all the X's. I can email pics of both.
Stefan
I fit an M60 bipod on my Serbu without any modification. I have one of Marks older production Serbu's.
waltermitty
hopefully you were able to source one by now. i have BFG018 and can confirm that the pivot on my model is able to use both the discontinued BFG bipod as well as the M60 successfully. I originallyhad the M60 but felt that was a bit long legged in collapsed mode so I went with the Mark-made version
