Got Uzi
There are more Colt guns on the market now than there has been in a long time. Lot of nice ones too. I wonder what the market will bear as there arent that many people ready to drop $35k-$45k on one (and have the money to do so) this is a buyers market
full auto 45
If you are looking for a nice 21A at a shooter gun price, look at the 21 the Colt Chopper is selling. Golden Gun
giantpanda4
Sadly for me it is a buyer's market. I am selling a couple guns right now... But overall this might bring new folks into the game, and everyone knows it is tough to get just one Thompson! The Colt shooter guns are now hitting below 30K. https://www.proxibid.com/Firearms-Military-Artifacts/Firearms/COLT-MODEL-1921-THOMPSON-SMG/lotInformation/50338075 Edited October 22, 2019 by giantpanda4
jim c 351
Mike,Looks like a nice Colt.I wonder if the 20% premium is turning off buyers. Perhaps that's what's behind the soft market. If you don't have to sell maybe you should hold off.Jim C

And yes auctions all the hidden costs...or upfront here you go costs. My people are loading the SAR pallets up now, while we have some time.We can deliver product to the show, if you want to call my CS people and make a purchase. Those GSG MP40 magazines are very popular, ATI must be selling a lot of those guns.I have bought an MG at auction once (COWANS) from the Dick Wray collection.I really do better buying direct, but that is just me. Bridgeport28A1
This may be a dumb question but do the sellers have to pay a percentage of the hammer price to the Auction Company? edit: I should have worded my question, does the seller have a percentage deducted by the Auction Company on the hammer price as a listing fee or some other terminology. maxfaxdude
Yes, in many cases. It's called a seller's premium.
APEXgunparts
Yes, in many cases. It's called a seller's premium. II had to pay RIA when they sold my antique Mauser "Zig-Zag" revolver for me. The auction houses make money on both sides of the deal.It is what helps pay for the colour catalog/books they publish and all that other overhead. Merry Ploughboy
And yet you have to pay for those books when you order them too JCE was said to have taken in as much as $30,000 a year selling his 'catalogs'. And one year sometime in the 1970s, I was one of the 6,000 or so who sent him $5. I finally tossed it out in the early 90s. Wish I'd kept it. For real exceptional items with a strong demand... negotiable. Have not been able to duck under their buyers fees. maxfaxdude
Very rare guns that are expected to fetch exceptionally high prices may sometimes be sold at auction with no seller's premium.John Keene offered me such a deal at last year's SAR show in Phoenix.
