DGinGA
Some years ago, I bought 6000 rounds of Soviet 5.45 X 39 ammo, in spam cans. Unbeknownst to me it is corrosive. Then ATF classified it a non-importable armor piercing. A few years after purchase, I became an 01 FFL, and can't resell any. How can I get rid of it? None of the PD's around here want it, as it is useless for training use. I've seen online ads for gun/ammo disposal services which are several states away and very expensive. Don't want to throw in the trash or bury somewhere. Any ideas?
timkel
If you really can't use it up. Then I would put an AK-74 with each tin and stash them around property for a day in the future. Or gift them to family members?
StrangeRanger
You cannot resell it but can you give it away?If so, advertise it on Sturmgewehr as "free to a good home." Someone will take all or part of it

Gaffshot
Why does becoming an FFL prohibit you from selling it? Another thought: If your FFL is in an LLC or some corporate structure and you personally owned the ammo prior to incorporation then it belongs to you individually and not the the LLC (or whatever corporate structure you have) and that solves your problem. Next option: get your SOT and buy a cheap dealer sample AK74. Have fun disposing of the ammo yourself. Edited January 31, 2019 by Gaffshot
emmagee1917
I see 30-06 , 50BMG AP , API , etc. , for sale all the time , so selling AP in and of itself is OK . I know they banned the mfg. of pistol AP , including .223 , but you can still sell old stock . People sell pulled AP bullets at shows and I don't figure they shoot them out of slingshots , so reloaders must still be able to assemble for their own use , yes?Where are you getting that you can't sell old stock ? Local / state law ?Chris

There is weirdness with the 7N6 Soviet 5.45mm ball1st it's under .22 diameter thus it's exempted by Federal code from the AP Handgun regs 2nd, as far as I am aware the regulation ONLY affects importersit's not actually regulated by the AP handgun ammo "ban"If importers had it under a bonded warehouse or it was in transit it's regulated01s can still transfer their existing stocks
