Value Of An L Drum?

Recommended Posts

Hey there. I'm looking to buy an L drum for my Kahr arms semi-automatic and was wondering what a reasonable price would be. I see a mint condition auto-ordinance one for sale for $950, but that seems a little steep to me. Is it? Thanks a bunch for your help so I don't get taken. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif

A mint condition Auto Ordanance drum could be worth that price if it is a Bridgeport WW2 drum in mint condition how ever be carefull, the West Hurly Drums are also marked Auto ordnance and are worth:

About $250 for a 39 round, $500 for a 50 and $1000 for a 100 round drum

The quickest was to tell is to remove the winding key and see if there is a hole in the rotor shaft. No hole means that it is a West Hurly. Hole means it is an older more valuable drum

Just based on what I have seen and my own experience with selling drums:

39 round drums- $350

50 round WH- $650-700 (although people seem to be asking more for them now)

100 round WH- $1250-1500

Original drums seem to bring around $900+ in fine condition. Original 100 round drums are about $3500 (still considered a good buy) to $5000. Good luck and enjoy!
