I was thinking the full auto Auto-Ordnance Corporation, West Hurley, New York, .22 caliber submachine guns were generally priced in the 10K to 11K price range. I was also under the impression this variation was not the most reliable rimfire submachine gun. However, I have heard Dan Block can work his magic on this product should one be found for sale. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

Makes me wonder a bit. I too have had the fascination of shooting a .22 Thompson. I lusted after a few .22 FA guns. Eventually I ended up using a Black Dog kit in my 1928 - and it works well. Super fast.

But - for the money of buying a West Hurley made Thompson that shoots ONLY .22, you might consider a West Hurley Thompson that shoots both .22 w/conversion as well as .45ACP. I agree the .22 should be available around or less than $12K. There was one recently on GB. But a Westie in .45 could be had for about $6K more for starters if you look around. Add a kit and you are in business!

Sorry, I do not. Someone here might. I think they are no longer making the kit, but they do come available every so often.

Totally agree TD. Not at all reliable. Mine kept blowing out the extractor and the back half of the .22 rim. Sold it with a warning.

I would buy a full auto .45 and a .22 caliber conversion kit if I wanted to be able to shoot ,22 LR,

You’re right, they shoot fast. I added some weight to the bolt and slowed it down some. Really could use some steel on the bottom of that bolt like Merles’ kit has. Never blew out an extractor but has popped a rim with the bolt bounce.
