Why did they have horizontal forearms on the guns? I know this was 1967 when it was made, but you wooda thunk someone........oh, I forgot, Hollywierd. gijive Posted March 5, 2006 Report Share Posted March 5, 2006 Mike, The horizontal forearm was offered as an option on the 1928 Navy Model, so by 1929 it would have been available. I talked with Al Frisch (who bought a great deal of the Western guns) in August and he told me that one person bought all the MGs when they had the sale when Stembridge closed their doors. I wonder where all those classic MGs are today? And forgive my utter ignorance here, but I take it that more than a couple of the original SVM tommy’s are documented and survive today? P51, The Stembridge guns were sold off by Long Mountain Outfitters, several years back. Most of them are probably in private collections today. The original SVDM guns (only two) are documented and are in the possession of the Berrien County, Michigan Sheriff's Department, where they were originally recovered in December of 1929.
