Zamm
Just got my Westy back from our favorite alchemist PK. God, it's so amazing! A quick list of what was done: Reshape the actuator coffee can into a 21/28 complete with checkering. Bright bolt look. The PK special lock/unlock bolt back via installing the full/semi toggle switch and 21/28 pivot plate. Put a radius on the square cut barrel fins ( the early westy's had square cut fins, quite ugly and sharp). Cut the barrel back 2 inches and weld the cutts to the barrel making it the legal 16 inch length, also pinning it for excellent looks. Adding the proper forgrip mount from a 21/28 style. Installing a 21 style saftey. Filling the hole on the Mag release lever and checkering it. Installing a bottom rail and reshaping the frame to accept a 21/28 removable buttstock. A slew of fine little touches such as putting round holes on the drum channels to match a 21/28 frame and cleaning up my Lyman " Mutt" sight. Entire blueing job on whole gun. And, fixing the internals so the bloody thing works again ( when I sent it to him you could not even cock it!) Adjust headspace, test fire ( now it hits what you point it at!). Well as you all must figure, this is just an incredible treasure now, man... If anyone is even thinking about having PK do a job on their semi, don't think! Just send it to him! You will be in heaven. And I have never, ever delt with such a kind, down to earth person who really takes great pride in his work. IT SHOWS> Have a gander at my new puppy! DC Chris
Zamm- Fantastic work! You have done exactly what I am going to have PK do to my WH1928. His work is amazing and you are a lucky guy to have a gun in such fine shape. Chris

Thanks for the pics...my WH28 has been there since early Dec., so I`m really looking forward to seeing it soon...I dread trying to post pics,though...maybe I`ll just send out announcements when it arrives...PK made yours look more like a Colt then my Colt...good job..what an artist..I`m sure glad PK answered his calling in life...he sure brings alot of enlightenment to this part of the world...I`ll be sending a Savage 28 to be rewatted...can`t wait for that too...that gun has been messed up for 40 years..looking at your semi kinda makes me regret selling mine a couple years ago( gosh, did I just say that?)...well good luck with yours, thanks for your pics and KEEPEM` SMOKIN`,out. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
Zamm
Phil, Thanks, it has to be seen to believe. My wife is threatening divorce because I want to sleep with it! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif As for the Diamond K mark, that my freind, is a great idea! I would gladly send it back to PK for a PK proof marking of some sort! Zamm
M1Brian
My M1 WH semi has ben with PK since early Jan. Being I'm not getting any new levers in my lower or butstock modifications I hope to get the call any month now that It's done and on it's way home so I can send the A1 WH semi so he can work his magic on that. Also when members post pictures of PK's work they need to post a disclaimer that should read as follows. CAUTION/ DANGER/ NOTICE Do not veiw these images if your Thompson is at Diamond K. By veiwing these images you will subject yourself to sleepless nights and and a excess of saliva while your mouth may water in anticpation of the awaited return of your gun. Look's great, can't wait for mine M1Brian
Grey Crow
Great looking piece Zam! My 27 is with PK now somewhere in the process of the magic transition. The milling of the frame is one step I want in the future. I also believe that by reducing the mass of the bolt handle, that it will reduce the chance of breakage. I've been getting the itch to go out and shoot it. LOL, I've been purchasing other guns to somehow satisfy my need for MORE GUNS.... I sneak them in and into the cabinet, then take the boxes to a friends to be burned. The wife just doesn't understand the need for another gun. I wouldn't mind the Diamond K logo on the gun either, it's a whole new line of hybrid gun, there won't be a whole lot of them out there. Tweaked to the max. Zamm
M1Brian, Oh boy, do I know what you mean! I had to restrain myself eveytime Something was posted involving one of PK's Semi conversion innovations!! Grey Crow, That's a good point. But boy lemme tell you after years of cocking that thing with the infamous giant cheese grater, this is so elegant and smooth on the hand, not to mention being a dead ringer for the original! Phil, Knowing me, I'd make it fit!!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif Zamm
