I would say still too much.

The gun itself is under $1000 new. Being unfired probably means it does not work.

Although the canvas will hold a Thompson drum, these are not a "Thompson Drum canvas" and sell of about $2.50, not $250.

The mags are usually $15-$20 each for a WWII.

The L Drum could sell for $700 or so.

The case is $79 based on their web site.

 

I could probably get you all that stuff in the auction for probably $2500 at the very most and you can pay me the extra $1000. That would be a total of $3500. $200 less than the auction.

Did you check the bid history? After $1400 'skankin' took over with 24 bids to bring it to $3700. 'D' words come to mind here - Dope, Dubius,.......... probably both. And notice that the reserve has not been met yet. So let's add ........Doubtful.

Gun is worth about $750.00 considering if you are patient, you can buy a used one that works for that amount.

 

I'd say $650.00 for the drum.

 

$60.00 for the 4 mags

 

$60.00 for the two drum pouches

 

$100.00 for the case

 

No more than $1,620.00 total. That would be a fair price, neither a bargin for the buyer, nor a windfall for the seller.

Any idea what type of drum those pouches are? I have a couple myself, and other than the fact that they're obviously British, know absolutely nothing about them. I've heard variously that they're for Lewis drums or Bren drums. Ideas?

He is probably a shill account set up by the seller because he forgot to put in the starting bid price/reserver price correctly. When someone bid, he said "Not enough!" and quite possibly ran it up himself.

 

Don't know and couldn't prove it however.

 

That being said, this guy is delusional with respect to semi automatic prices. Even NIB (whats different really than a Kahr which could be had for $800-$900) with the drum, $1500 max is pushing what I would pay for this lot.

It was at the 11th annual Thompson show where I got an education about some different drum pouches and can't remember this logistics on this one. It seems lately that unless it happened 5 minutes ago I can’t remember stuff.
