Sawping out the safety on a 1918A3

I have a OOW M1918A3 and I would like to change the 2 part safety for the older type , Is it a drop in change or will the new part need modification . Carl

The replacement will have to be modified to retain it in the receiver body. OOW uses a pin through the body of the selector.

Carl,

OOW may have made a few of these safeties up when they made the Colt repro's.

It's surprising what OOW has if you call them ... That's how I bought my brand new 1918 rear sight.

I have a new safety from E-gun parts  

Is it easy to disassemble the  trigger mech ?

Yes, the trigger assembly is pretty straightforward. I did fab up a tool to compress the hammer spring and it makes re-assembly a whole lot easier.
