Oldtrooper
Is the short barrel for "display purposes only" a usable barrel?
SHELBYGT350
Hello, I do not know if the short barrel is useable since I have never fired this gun. It threads on to the receiver fine and is brand new. It is also threaded for the Cutts compensator. My dad bought the barrel at a gun store in the 1990's. SHELBYGT350
Also, my dad was an Army radioman in the South Pacific in WWII and had a Thompson there so he decided to buy a West Hurley in the 1990's as a memento-display gun. He passed away in 2002 so I do not have any history on the short display barrel.

Is it a blank firing barrel?
SHELBYGT350
The barrel is plugged inside, you cannot see thru it, so it is a display-only barrel.

anjong-ni
Beautiful gun. The removeable stock is a nice feature. Was it built this way or was a bracket added to the lower frame?....Phil

deerslayer
Slide the lower back a little bit by pushing in the detent button at the back of the receiver that will allow you to slide the banana mag adapter to the side easier.
