mikebaker1129
Anyone here have or ever see a Nigerian stock with the plastic pistol grip ? I have seen one with the plastic grip in Wilson's book on Beretta, but have nevr seen one in person other than the one that I have . Most Have the wood grip ,but mine sits too close to the trigger group to open and close with the grip on . I wonder if mine is original or something that someone added ? It almost looks as if there is a spacer like on the folding stock that is missing. Any information regaurding this would be appreciated . Thanks in advance ! MRJ
Mike - The plastic grips are original with the "Nigerian" stock. Bob Reese had the wooden pistol grips made in order to utilize new stocks he bought from Beretta. I've only seen these plastic grips molded in a reddish brown color. Has anyone seen any black plastic grips? MRJ
mikebaker1129
Mike do you know if there is a spacer inside the grip on the plastic grips ? Seems like there should be to kepp everything lined up , as mine is pulled to the front when tight . I had a feeling that it was something that Bob did on the wood grips . Thanks Mike
NORIDE
I have an E2 stock with black plastic grip, inside under sliding grip cover is black also. It looks just like a Nigerian stock but no provision for the carry handle on upper handguard. I can open and close trigger group with grip in place and grip has no spacer inside. This configuration is on a select fire, 2 digit serial number rifle, barrel date 1964. Best, BOB
mikebaker1129
Noride, There is no spacer between the stock and the grip ? Any way we could get a picture of your stock ? Thanks ....Mike
NORIDE
Mike, That is correct there is no spacer between the grip and the stock. You can see a flash line there where they cast the plastic grip, this gives the illusion that there is a spacer. I also have a folding stocked M1A Springfield that has the reddish brown plastic grip it has the same flash/casting line on it also ( This folder is the original, exactly like the ones Andy has for sale on GB except came from Springfield in 1989 ). There are some pictures of this rifle already posted on this board, look on page #4 / 10th post down by "Sapper", I bought his rifle when he was having problems. If those pics are not what you need to see please advise and I will try for some others. Best, BOB
NORIDE
Mike, I got to thinking that maybe you might have been asking about the grip alignment block. I took my stock apart to show all grip mounting parts. The grip alignment block keeps the grip from moving around when it is tightened. The block is made of wood and the dimensions are as follows : 1.320" long / .625" wide / .435" thick. I have some pics I will try to post here.
