I don't recall when I saw them offered by OOW last, but I think you can get on a waiting list. I just got an email over the last couple days they have some of the HCARs or whatever available. A brief search didn't turn up any others advertised for sale.

Word is that OOW has suspended making BARs for the time being, along with a lot of other civilian stuff to concentrate on their government contracts for 240s and 249s.

 

They still have parts sets and unfinished receivers and will resume eventually

I know of a NIB Colt marked semi version for a whole lot less. 

 

I inquired with OOW last year regarding doing some BAR gunsmithing and they said they were taking in no such work. They were concentrating all their resourced on DOD contracts.

I just purchased an unfired OOW M1918 Blued gun for half of that. I wanted one of the Colt / OOW’s; but, just couldn’t swing it. Perfectly happy with mine; but, I waited a long time to find it.

Sometimes I think some of the sellers are just fishing for drunk buyers. I have a buddy that got drunk one night and spent $15k on booking an Edelweiss Motorcycle Tour.
