I do not know what sense that could possibly make, when there is an opportunity of obtaining a much better, technically advanced system that would out perform the original. The fact is, one will not even noticed the system installed, and what would be the point of installing an inadequate system in a Drum that's a reproduction anyway? Not trying to steal PK's post, but I just couldn't believe there would be a few out here, voting for an outdated design, which could be replaced with a much more superior one. I'm sure once PK finds out all of the particulars, a preliminary price will be quoted. If reasonable, put me down for one. What the hell, could be an investment. I would like to know the success (or failure) rate for this new design. Unless some testing (100 round dumps) has been performed using a real Tommy in full auto, I would take a wait and see attitude. Otherwise, if its a superior design and in the $400 to $500 range, I will take at least one (maybe 2). I get dibs on serial number "1" (and 2). I called it first!!!!! The price started out by another member stating what he would be willing to pay for one. Of course this could be a philanthropic venture, thereby eliminating the desire to ensure any profit on the sale. But I don't think that is what PK had in mind. It has also been difficult to remain aloof and not respond to various aspects of it. Now it’s time to come clean, at least a bit. I am not tooling up or considering doing so, I have far to much to do at this time making Tommy’s purr. I posted this thread at the request of an associate who is in a unique position to service this market and has been laboring diligently to come to a decision as to what to do. That decision will be made this week and either he or I will post and advise if the project is committed. If the decision is to proceed, it will be undertaken with all haste and I have no doubt that the outcome will be of significant quality. Stay tuned. You are comparing apples and oranges here Arthur. Most Thompson owners don't want some empty silly altoids tin box. Most of us would like to have a nice 100 round "C" drum for under 5 bills. I expect this will fly, a final decision is due by Monday, he says he will post. The project also includes L drums, but they will not be available for the group buy. I have been appraised of the projected price but am not at liberty to disclose that number. I believe it has been diligently researched, but it’s still a bit early.
