Kilroy
I’ve seen come up for sale occasionally "USMC" marked slings that are marketed as Reising slings. In fact, there are a couple on eBay right now. Most genuine Reising slings I’ve seen are unmarked. The same seller that is selling the USMC slings is also selling Reising slings marked "F. S. Co.", the Carbine Club had an article written up about the FS slings in CCNL 236 & 237 where they state the FS slings are non-original and reproduction (FS for fake sling). I’m wondering, are the USMC marked slings genuine, or are they from the same bag as the FS slings? Thoughts?
Bridgeport28A1
I believe the USMC marked Reising slings are reproduction slings. The Reising reference thread should be updated to reflect this. I have had correspondence with dalbert regarding the sling markings, original versus reproduction slings. dalbert
Yes, the USMC marked Reising slings are reproduced. I have been wanting to update the reference page with this, but I'm afraid of corrupting the page. David Albertdalbert@sturmgewehr.com
n64atlas
Most refer to the F.S. Co. As the fake sling company
emmagee1917
I heard years ago that that was the meaning behind FS as chosen by the makers of the slings . They did not want to deceive , just sell their product and fill a need . Figured the " tongue in cheek " name would be easy to remember .Chris
