how to remove this part so i can refinish the stock

Recommended Posts

also suggestions for color match to factory...this is off a military model...is the stock the same? it seems to fit my hands better(more contoured and not as blocky)

i notice most of the military pics i find on line are darker than the police versions...i believe the wood is walnut

Huggytree, looks like this parts is held in by forward pin. Looks sort of like a cut off nail on mine.Either you can press down around this front pin an get a small pair of vise grips on it and slowly twist left to right while pulling up at the same time. Or try prying it up slowly from the forward end of the rounded bar. Use a screw driver and put something under screw driver to protect wood stock. Possibly an old folded credit card or a similar piece of plastic. Also both pins have springs under the rounded bar. Don't see another way this part can be held in place . No screws. Just pin pressed into wood. Good luck. Rich
