Arthur Fliegenheimer
Just to put that sum in perspective, Thomas Fortune Ryan ponied up the $680,705 for the firing mechanisms for the original 15,000 Colt Thompson SMG's back in 1920. That was 21 years before the breathing G.I. Joe name was even coined. Twenty-four years later the"action figure" was born. What in hell does any of this mean? Bill in VA
Well, if anyone is interested, I don't have a "Rocky the Paratrooper", but I've got a bunch of original (1964-mid-70s) GI Joe stuff and gear (3 or 4 Joes, jeep, space capsule, etc... and enough small arms and uniforms to outfit a company of Joes) and I'll let the whole lot go for a bargain basement price of $250,000 or one '21 with a C drum. All BSing aside though... like the Eickhoff paper, it's amazing what will turn up in the possession of older busines execs
Walter63a
For $600,000, I'd rather have about twenty original Thompson 28's and all the original C and L- Type drums possible. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif Well, that's my two cents worth on that subject. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif Regards, Walter
