Papa's Bar Is History

Recommended Posts

No guns. Not allowed, but lots and lots of original Hemingway photos and materials. I have been there many times. That is a real true shock. One place that cannot be replaced with todays buildings.

Too Bad,

Was about nine the first time I went there. My folks would always go to that bar just about every night we were there....wasn't much else to do on that tiny island at night except fish or walk the beach. We used to sail in from Ft Lauderdale on our Hatteras Sportfisher. I used to love to snorkel around this wreck (was really just two motors left) off of south Bimini and catch lobsters and cook them on the beach. The place is like paradise...at least it was when I was a kid...always smelled like fresh bread across the whole island. That is a great loss that cannot be replaced. Good thing no Thompson's were lost http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif
