sc269
Hey Guys, I hope everybody is doing well. I'm fishing for information and advice on my guns. Of course, if you own one thompson and it is stolen or burned, your typical homeowner policy will not be enough to replace it. I'm asking what everybody else has done to get proper insurance on such items. Any help, advice, recommendations, tips etc. will be appreciated. And bad experiences if any. Thanks. RoscoeTurner
Collectibles Insurance is the company I use. You can use their online calculator to compute your rate.https://collectinsure.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIy52OooCq3QIV07XACh2bWwo_EAAYASAAEgIYmPD_BwE
HB of CJ
Lots of us here have extra firearms insurance. About the only thing I can add is that be sure you do not give your insurance agent a detailed descriptions along with the actual serial numbers. Some firearms insurance companies do not require such. Others do. Understand that if such detailed private collectors data is given out it may not remain secret or private very long. This is not saying Insurance Agents are not honest. It is saying that lots of folks in the insurance agency may learn specific things about your firearms that may not be secure. Loose lips sink gun collections. Also it might be a good idea to do some research on the insurance company. Make sure they are on the up and up. Paranoid? No. How much do you have to lose? sc269
Thanks Roscoe, Ill look that up. And HB I totally understand. One question I would like to know. If youI had said gun that sold for 5K. I buy one at 6K. Then you can't find another for less than 10K. How much insurance do you buy? My experience is you can buy 10K of insurance but if item is only worth 6K, thats all they will pay.
