clintonlover
I have ordered American Thunder II , however before I get my hands on the book of knowledge, I have a question. Was the lyman rear sight used on any of the 1928 a1's or was it just on the 21's? Somone tell me I didn't waste 295 bucks!
TD.
At $295 I assume you are talking about the Lyman adjustable rear sight - and no, you did not waste your money. The Lyman adjustable rear sight was standard equipment on many World War II 1928A1 Thompsons. It was later replaced by the "L shape" rear sight to save in production costs. Another well known 1928A1 cost cutting method was the elimination of the barrel fins.

clintonlover
Thanks fellas, yeah my name sparks some controversy. I find that my sarcastic screen name gives me the strength to endure the politics in the great liberal Empire state!. That being said my kit is a savage no.s439064 is that a low number, would the lyman and finned barrel have been equiped on this one? Waiting to receive my copy of American Thunder II. Thanks, Danny

Jay Baker
Hey Danny, My 28A1 is a 469 number and came with a fixed sight and finned barrel. I have been told that either barrel and either rear sight would be correct for that range.
clintonlover
Thanksfor the info Jay, someone on Weaponeer stated the 28 only came with the stamped L sight, it's good to hear they were incorrect! Hey full auto if you had read the previous post you would have realized my name refers to the female senator of my great state.
