Grenadier916
How do I remove the compensator on my AO gun? The seems to be some type of black residue around where it meets the barrel.
full auto 45
Does it have a pin going through it? If so, knock out the pin with a punch and a small hammer.Do it very carefully as not to do any damage. The black residue may either be some type of adhesive or just build up. If it will wiggle back and forth do so until you can feel it break loose. The compensator will just unscrew and come off. They are fine threads so don't force it or you could really screw up the threads. My WH gun had loc-tite on it but it broke loose and I could unscrew it. To put it back on, just clean the threads good, screw it on about half way and put a drop or two of red loc-tite on the back half of threads. Mine has held for quit a while now. Good luck. Motorcar
If it is a Kahr AO gun of recent manufacture there will be no threads, it is just a tolerance fit pressed on then drilled and roll pinned in place. Replace the roll pin with a good solid steel pin like the originals and it will stay for good.
