Many historians had fingered Tex Wheeler, an MP at Nuremberg, as the culprit who allowed Goering to fetch his cyanide pill from the storage room in return for a pocket watch and other Goering mementos. This guy Stivers might be confessing or just trying to get some publicity. But his admissions that he felt "sympathy" towards Goering, and in turn denying the hangman the opportunity to end Goering's life at the prescribed moment in time as stipulated by the court, is not only pathetic, but criminal.

And for you, AF - since M1s are not "true Thomspons" to you - absent Goering et al, the second half of France's order of 6,000 Colt Thompsons would have gone to Europe, never to return. Instead, they remain here.

Arthur is right, all fingers point toward Wheeler as the guard in question. Personally I think this fellow's story sounds like a load of manure, I think he's out for some attention before he leaves the planet. The only way I would belive him is if he passed a polygraph...anyway he's either lying, or admitting that he was truly an ignorant fool who was easily duped, or that he knowingly commited a crimminal act in which he should have went to prison for. Any way you look at it this guy is a creep that should be ignored or sent to jail.
