Chopper28
Got same email with same ship date 2/28/06.
jimmie58
I tried to order drums twice and just got the runaround from SG. Contacted their customer service and got the bullshit of no drums able to be shipped to NY. I don't understand the law, we here can purchase and possess any mags that are preban regardless of capacity but can not bring same into state by mail? Doesn't make sense to me. Wish I could get some drums. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/banghead.gif

NYC screws it up for NY. Chicago screws it up for Illinois. LA screws it up for Cali. john
All the flurry prompted me to check my order again. ity was there a couple weeks ago, but tonight....SHAZAM! "No record exists of your order" http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif This is after having reconfirmed my backordered drums three times over 6 months and now I'll have to call them and find out what the Heck is going on! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/banghead.gif Maybe (as others have stated) the backorder notice will be sent to me shortly with another number....but tomorrow I'll find out via the Telephone....and let you know if there is any other news! a very frustrated john!! dalbert
John, You'll probably get the e-mail from SG. The same thing happened to me a couple of days ago. I think the orders are getting so old that they don't show up in the SG automated tool anymore. David
kyle
SG responded to my recent inquiry saying that I did not confirm my order by responding to a notice dated Sept 27, 2005. This is BS. I sent them notice on Oct 5, 2005. Here's copy of what I sent. > To: customerserviceops@sportsmanguide.com > Subject: Order # 26597088 > Date sent: Wed, 5 Oct 2005 17:54:48 -0500 > > Dear Sportsman's Guide: > > I have received notice of the revised shipping date for the > referenced backordered items. As per your instructions, this e-mail > is to confirm that I still want you to complete the order as placed. > Thank you! This is a classic SG trick. Advertise an item at a low price; get a bunch of orders and, often, some new/renewal membership fees, and then stiff the buyer on the item. You also always need to check your credit card bill because often they will "forget" to figure in the coupon savings if you used a coupon. If SG won't honor my order, what's my next action? john
Well, Finally got an email.....today, after I had called the Guide two days ago. The lady I spoke with told me that the orders more than 30 days old don't show up (not trackable) on the website. I asked why not and she didn't know..... She assured me that she had found my order and all was well and the delivery date is as the rest (2.28/06). I mentioned that a bunch of folks I knew had ordered a bunch of these drums and wanted to know what their chances were to actually receive them. She said that they should come through BUT they were having trouble with this particular vendor and the delivery dates. SOOOO, they are not the direct importers of these drums but are buying them from another wholesaler..... No idea if this thing will ever go through, but they supposedly have a contract with the vendor for these drums and hopefully will come through. I'll keep checking and let you all know if I find anything else out. Gotta run down there next week.... john

mgdoc8307
Last email from SG said expect shipment Feb.28-well Tues is Feb 28th-we'll see.
philasteen
I spoke to them last week and they said 2/28 was still the date.
Frank Iannamico
I aksed Dan of Dan's Sporting Goods, which is where SG gets their Thompson part sets, and a lot of their ammo. He had no idea where the drums were coming from. He said that none of the major exporters in England have had any large supplies.
philasteen
I should add, even though I was told the 2/28 date again, I'm hedging my bets and bought 2 Colt L drums from Merle.
