WTB: early BAR lower with screw on mag guides

Recommended Posts

I am looking for an early 1918 BAR lower with the screw on magazine guides. A blued Winchester lower would be ideal to match the gun. Preferably complete but I would also consider a stripped housing. Please shoot me a message if you have a spare for sale. Thank you

Hi Dan, I do have a new old stock complete Royal Type Writer (ROT) A2 lower. I had it changed from parkerized to blued when John Andrewski repaired the gun. It does have a slightly purplish hue, which John attributes to the metal composition. I assume it's not armasteel since it doesn't have the mark that I see typically applied to those type of lowers, and the metal feels like steel - not iron. Edited by nate129

Here are some photos. It does take a magnet, I assume the armasteel versions will not? Ultimately I'm trying to have all the hardware to display as early, modernized, and late A2. Thanks to your stock set the only piece I need to do modernized now is the screwed on mag guide lower. Doing late A2 is the least accurate since the gun is blued so I might consider parting with this ROT.

Hello Nate: I have an early 1918 lower with the screw holes for the magazine guide that I got from Apex a couple of years ago. it is stripped except for trigger. I can't find any markings on it. What are these going for now? You can email me for pics, Thanks, we.pow1919 at gmail.com
