Have you ever seen that weird ring sight on that Thompson that was in "Guadalcanal Diary"?? See if you can grab that and post it. I'll bet a lot of the guys here have ever seen one like that. That protective ring sight also shows up on a Stembridge Rental Gun from the 1967 Roger Corman flick, "The St. Valentine's Day Massacre." I'll see if I can capture a shot of it from Guadalcanal Diary. It might be a few days, I'm going out to California this weekend to see my son in the Marine Corps. The software is called Power DVD and is not too expensive. It just loads right on your computer. You have to have a DVD drive on your computer, however. What about that tripod mounted Thompson used by the Japanese??? (The Japs were using Tommys even more than the Marines in this flick). Great War movie...there's even some scenes with M55 Reisings. I just happen to have that very software on my PC right now (I replaced my DVD drive last year), but I didn't know it would do screen caps...where on the menu do you find the option? gijive Posted March 16, 2006 Report Share Posted March 16, 2006 ghostsoldier, If your control panel looks like this on your DVD playing software, the capture function is the camera icon shown below. When you load the software, you can change the path where you want the captured image to be saved. It will save the image to the Cyberlink folder unless you change the path to a personalized folder. You also need an imaging program such as Photoshop to open the image for viewing, editing or resizing the image. I've got tons of screenshots I'd like to capture on different DVD's, but I could never get any of my other imaging software to do it...I always end up with a black jpeg saved to file.
