Tex
Yup, finally got to shoot my Savage M1 a week or so ago and WOW! Ran 100% with any mag I had. RPM is considerably faster than a friends M1A1, due to the floating FP bolt I guess? Anyway, it is a great looking, great shooting subgun and I just don't see how anything else but a Thompson will do. I probably won't be taking any of the other guns out for awhile when this comes in. Won't be long now on the transfer, it's due in anytime. Just had a suppressor go through in less than 60 days. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif

full auto 45
Is that a ten gallon hat there Tex or did you just shoot your Thompson for the first time? We are a photo hungry crowd. I want to see pictures.
Tex
My lady dealer took some pics of the event, but she has not posted them yet on their website. When she does or I receive the Thompson, I'll get them out asap...
kyle
I can't believe you really enjoy shooting MY M1A1 that much! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
Tex
It was kinda fun when the the three cars full of Tarrant Co deputies pulled up too. The old guy was pretty cool and I know he wanted to shoot it, but with the younger fellows along I'm sure he thought better of it. First time I've ever had anyone check paperwork though. Took 'em awhile to read through them all - with Steve & Sherry's along. The M1 is sweet, Kyle!
Gunner
Tex, What range do you use? (I live the Dallas area, and it's hard to find ranges that allow full auto. I use one in Sanger, 40 miles away.) PS Steve & Sherry handled the transfer on my WH M1.
Tex
Gunner, It was no big deal, it was out on some private property (unincorporated) in Tarrant Co shooting into a berm. Nothing behind the berm but a sand pit or gravel pit of some sort. Perfectly legal to shoot out there - it's just that the neighbors hadn't heard that kind of fire in awhile. The deputies came out stricktly to appease the folks. Everything was cool and we continued firing even after they had gone. We had a good time. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif
junglewalk
Tex; I bet you're still breathing heavy, ain't you ?.. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif
Tex
Oh man, I am so pumped about this M1! It is a beauty ( to me anyway), and it functioned flawlessly, as one would hope for. Should be getting close to transfer - I just had three other transfers (corporate) go through, two of them in about 90 days, and the other ( my quickest ever) in less than 6 weeks. COME ON BABY!!!
