MisterB
It's dated 1943. Any idea what it's for? Looks British to me
emmagee1917
Close , the arrow in the C is the Canadian mark . I believe it is a universal pouch , small . In other words a pouch to carry whatever needed to be carried that would fit in it . Usually ammunition in boxes , clips , or mags as weapon required . Real experts will be along shortly to confirm or correct .Chris
Frank Iannamico
Looks like a Sten mag pouch
TSMGguy
Right, Canadian P37 universal web pouch, pattern 1937 (also known as '37 Webbing) part of a system military load-carrying equipment. It replaced the 1908 and 1925 Patterns—on which it was based—and was standard issue for British and Commonwealth troops from its introduction in 1937, throughout World War II, and in the post-war period until it was superseded by 58 pattern webbing. Looks like this pouch was made by the Zephyr Loom & Textile (ZL&T) company in 1943, if I'm reading the stamps right. The "broad arrow C" is a Canadian property mark. MisterB
Thanks for the very helpful information! This doesn't fall in line with anything I collect. I would imagine there must be someone that would appreciate it and need it to complete a collection. What's it worth? Anybody interested in it? Autorotate
To follow on to Frank’s comment, would Sten magazines fit inside? What are the approximate dimensions of the pouch? If Sten magazines fit, I might be interested.
AlanDavid
The corrugated looking thing sewn into the flap is for 3 cartridges for firing grenades from the rifle with a cup discharger. Regards AlanD
