Mine appears to have a "P1" and an "H2" as well as a couple of punch marks on the receiver (I assume these are for hardness testing).

I'm not sure if mine is considered a "commercial" or a "military" gun, but it has a parkerized finish and fewer fins on the barrel (14 fins?). It came with the 1-piece bumper. It is in the 56000 s/n range. The stock has a couple of very old pieces of tape with a rack number stenciled on them.

On the second design receivers, often referred to as the "military" model. The logo on the receiver is read from the LEFT side. Early production was stamped to be read from the RIGHT side.

At Knob Creek I looked at a selection of used spare action bars on a table and noticed that the dimensions seen to have changed during production.

is there a file available with the compiled info on the guns ?   It would be interesting to see just what range of serial numbers are still in private  hands.....

MG08,

You can see the poll results at the top of the thread.  The actual serial numbers are not recorded...the poll only asks for the the serial within a range.
