Ot..came Down With The Flu

Recommended Posts

Well hell, came down with the Flu yesterday. One very lousy evening, and today isn't any better either. Went down to the

Hospital yesterday, and was prescribed antibiotics. Hopefully, those will start kicking in here soon. Not a good way to start off a New Year! Say, has anyone been screwed by the UPS Store? I swear every time I go in they add on an additional 60-70 pounds onto my packages, when they normally weigh anywhere from 10-15 Pounds! I'm really getting pissed off about it. Inquiring to see if others here have experienced the same. I have kept all of my receipts, so I think I'll contact UPS.

Found out a PD in this State has a Colt '27...Perhaps I'll take a drive down there to see it, and grab some Pics too.

Sorry 'bout your flu. Hope the drugs kick in! Yes, I've been hosed by the UPS Store too. Since my local Mail Boxes Etc. got bought out by UPS, it's been brutal. My friend who owns it is dumping it because of the UPS policies and bully-like tactics. Where they're really screwing people around here is in packaging (if UPS does it). They're way too powerful these days.

Let us know about the '27 for sale!

I have recently found out that the UPS store charges a hell of a lot more than I remember. My wife sas thay add an overhead to everything. From now on USPS for me.

I too want to see the 27 pics!

Good luck on seeing the 27 and on getting some pictures.

As far as UPS goes; they are the ones who, after ringing the doorbell, left a 28AC Thompson at my door step !!

I just returned from USPS to pick up a Reising mag that they wouldn't leave because we were out. I guess if you are worried about the safety of packages go with USPS. I personally quit using UPS after the strike several years ago since I felt they were letting their customers suffer in order to get raises. IMHO

The flu is no fun, especially for a Longtime RKI...stay on top of the antibiotics...and yes,ups is screwin` the pooch...looking for some important parts that were shipped to my business with a tracking number and learned a new term..`exception`...a new word for`delay`I waited 3 weeks for ups to get off their ass and deliver my stuff...they suck and we all know it...don`t use them if you can help it...my .02... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif

Devlin, I have to agree with the others. I don't deal with UPS, if at all possible. I ordered some expensive Thompson L-drums, years back, only to find them outside on my doorstep one morning (delivered by UPS). http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif Hell, anyone could have picked them up after that (paperboy, dog, etc). http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif Maybe Norm is right, you may have given the gift that keeps on giving!!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif Get well! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif Best Regards, Walter

What??? no one likes Universally Poor Service? After having several very expensive items left (in plain sight no less) on my porch and odd delivery times...I can't stand them now..I only deal with USPS as they have always been good to me.

The UPS stores will add weight to your package if your not watching. They also charge the "published rates" which are about twice the actual shipping average. I know, I ship out UPS every day. But my actual charges are about half of the customers cost. I do alot of UPS and God help you if you have a package damaged or lost. I had a $3000 32" plasma TV that they dropped and damaged. I insured it for $3000. It will cost me $3000 from JVC to replace it. That is my dealer cost! Now they only wanted to pay me $2000, because they found it cheaper somewhere else! BS! After about a half hour phone conversation that had half the plant watching me on a rant, I told them that if I don't have my rest of the insured amount by the end of the month, I will ship DHL and Postal and they lose a $100k a year account. The twerps answer was, "well that's your decision, not mine"! I was so mad I beat the phone on the desk and hung up. You know, I got the check in 2 days. But they lost my trust and do not recommend them to anyone any more.
