This is probably too easy - but what gun is this?

This gun appears on a target i used recently at an event at my club. My low level of expertise doesn't permit me to identify it. So - what is it?

looks like a tec-9 . 

 

 

just not held sideways.

I think you're right. It's got the charging handle in the right place; the shape of the charging handle is right, the protruding barrel seems right. I haven't found a head-on picture known to be of a Tec-9 to compare to, but it looks like this is the right gun.

The TEC-9 is a very light machine pistol.  You can see the polymer lower receiver as a black line on each side in the picture.
