StrangeRanger
The question came up in the Reising forum on the Uzitalk board http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?92541-Help-ID-Reising-magazines-amp-pouches&p=823894#post823894
Bridgeport28A1
Would be nice to be able to see the front side of each of the pouches with their flaps open.
StrangeRanger
That would determine TSMG vs. Reising but would it show anything else? I'm curious about faux markings, repro materials, inappropriate stitching etc. How do we determine those?
Bridgeport28A1
I haven't observed anyone faking USMC markings on an original Reising pouch. I've never observed an original WW2 Reising web pouch without markings. They typically add the fake USMC markings on a unmarked original WW2 Thompson pouch. jim c 351
I bought several 20 rd pouches from Omega several years ago. They were all unmarked.I discovered that Reising mags would fit in the one pouch quite nicely, but not in the other pouches. As far as I'm concerned that one pouch is my Reising pouch.Jim C
Lukas Haz
During my eBay surfing I noticed a fake Reising pouch, though being sold as Thompson pouch. USMC markings have different font, the markings overall are sharp and the male LTD strip is not as high as Reising pouches have them. Here's the link, he's selling three of them at the moment: https://www.ebay.com/itm/364624284693?itmmeta=01HPJ09W0YCCDVJMAWFS5C31E4&hash=item54e54d0c15:g:lM4AAOSwSA9ldnIS&itmprp=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4BneOz%2FSAYcFt%2FTxaEJ6NEathVPQrO14FHZLVALLtGARguZ3BkYs0c6PxV56hAShjxtC1GhOhsI%2FsGKmffhyTRfy%2Bwm15UiS1xOJEHHgwGlXYdae6pnB1Wch8TVoTPj%2FW87Mhr9PxVP%2Bc%2Bh6C8uowN6f9AL0N7K%2BxBkCCzVM%2BMOhZALtjALawg%2BPvVxT%2B%2BSeQP2Tk%2BiK6%2FP8HZOqBETXe%2Fj9F7sMZZvxQIvuZHu7FunYLudztmz%2FgPwWwR2OFWMAnNrLwyjyLdRIT1U9TXs2AEl5Gwh%2FAR2UOX6ywvVhspoC|tkp%3ABk9SR8jAp8C0Yw
