Hello, I do not know if the short barrel is useable since I have never fired this gun. It threads on to the receiver fine and is brand new. It is also threaded for the Cutts compensator. My dad bought the barrel at a gun store in the 1990's.

Are you aware that in order to have a functional live fire short barrel on the gun you need a federal tax stamp from the BATFE? Is it a blank firing barrel?

Are you pulling the bolt back in the furthest rearward position and unlocking the magazine release when you are attempting to remove the adapter? Edited by inertord
