Movie: Sundown (1941)

Recommended Posts

Just watched this film this afternoon, (learning how to be retired). About 48 minutes in, there is the most realistic assassination attempt with a Thompson I have ever seen on film. A type "L" drum loaded with tracers at night. Wow! Has anyone seen anything better than this? Hell and High Water (in color) has some Thompson tracer file as well, but nothing like in this movie.

Dudley, Gene was gorgeous in this film at 21 yrs old. Here's a photo from the film she signed for me along with the cover of Life magazine which was the most popular magazine of the period.

Bob, looks like your mom was giving the stars a run for their money. This must have been a popular pose setting at the time, it jogged my memory and I found another one in my collection. This one is from the beautiful Debra Paget...Hubba Hubba.
