Walter63a
On Tuesday Vice-President Cheney gave one of the most liberal Senate Democrats, Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy, a piece of his mind, on the Senate floor! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif This was due to Leahy's constant and scurrilous slander, over government no-bid contracts granted to the Halliburton Company. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif Here is the link: http://www.drudgereport.com Regards, Walter P.S. full auto 45
Just another thing for the liberal media to blow way out of proportion. So what if the VP said f*ck you to the senator. He probably deserved it. Sorry if any one hasn't heard it before, but though. If I would run into Leahy I would probably tell him to f*uck off also. Arthur Fliegenheimer
I'm sure The VP is thankful that Michael Powell can't fine him $250K for using colorful metaphors off the public airwaves.
Walter63a
Mike, I'm just glad he had the b*lls to tell one of these smirking, snide, know-it-all liberals where to go! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif
DDAYJune6
i find it funny that conservatives have worked long and hard to get that kinda stuff off the airwaves, and then our vice pres, a conservative, uses it and shoot me if im wrong i suppose, but i do find it a little odd that the company that the vice president used to run gets a bunch of contracts from the government Edited June 25, 2004 by DDAYJune6
Hurridale
DDay- YOU F***IN' LIBERAL!!!!!!!!!!! Either AGREE with what the government does, or GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!!
Walter63a
DDAYJune6 and Hurridale, you both have a totally misguided take on this. I don't always agree with this present administration, but I do cut them a little slack during this time of war. Also, I am not sure if this incident ever made it onto film, tape, dvd, whatever. It was not during an official floor session, but merely during the annual yearbook photo opportunity. Therefore, it violated no known rules of the Senate. Leahy, apparently just couldn't turn off his venom spout for that brief time, so the Veep let him have it. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif Regards, Walter
DDAYJune6
in my post did i say anything about disagreeing with the government well i guess i really didnt expect that from some one of your age, im 18 and I dont believe i have cursed in any of my posts my dad - a vietnam vet, always taught me to respect other peoples point of views even if u dont agree with them , not just to say f**kin liberal!!! as u eloquently said. and I believe one of the points of having a democracy is so u can disagree with the government wouldnt u say? thats whats great about this country, i can disagree and not get shot right in the head ill admit i dont agree with most of what bush has done, but its not like i go and demonstrate and picket and stuff like that and really, did u agree with most of what clinton did as president??????, i sure as hell didnt, but i dont believe anyone told me to "get the hell out" because i did update - wow u typed all that philohio as i was typing this, i must be slow - i didnt know all of that philohio, and now i do. I admit im young and have a lot to learn so thanks for a well thought out repsonse though, rather then saying f**kin liberal Edited June 26, 2004 by DDAYJune6
DDAYJune6
If there was anything that i said that offended you in any way I am really sorry, as it wasnt meant that way. I respect you a lot more then many other members on this board. That post was in respone to Hurridale saying that i should always agree with the government or get the hell out, none of that was directed at you I just hate that when any time i post something someone has to come along and say you liberal bastard blah blah blah blah blah.... and so on. And If you read my post I did edit it... sorry If i made anyone mad it wasnt meant to be that way. I just overreacted a bit when i saw a response like that, which is really uncalled for, as was my post probably And really was my lang that strong??, no one said anything to "YOU F***IN' LIBERAL!!!!!!!!!!! Either AGREE with what the government does, or GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!!" do you take anything he says seriously? I guess ill just read the posts from now on, every time i try to take part in a discussion it ends up like this which i not my intent in any way Edited June 26, 2004 by DDAYJune6
PATHFINDER
QUOTE (Hurridale @ Jun 25 2004, 03:41 PM) DDay- YOU F***IN' LIBERAL!!!!!!!!!!! Either AGREE with what the government does, or GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!! Phil Ohio I think D-Day was reefering the post quoted here. Hurridale, Does blindly agreeing with the government also apply when the democrats are in power? And if so, do we have to get out then too? With 380 or so years of my family on this continent with one ancestors signature on the Declaration of Independence and another’s picture on our nations currency, and 7 dead or wounded in the Civil War. Since then we have had someone in just about every other war this nation has fought I think puts me in a position to safely say that 'We the people' (D-Day is included too) have earned the right to disagree with the government. Also. 'We the people' have a responsibility to respect anyone else doing so. A few days ago some one on this board quoted Gen. G.S. Patton to the effect of "When everyone is thinking the same, someone isn't thinking."

PATHFINDER
Say what you will about old George, he was a hell of a uniform designer!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif Ever seen the photo of his proposed 'tanker uniform' at the Patton Museum? Straight outa' Buck Rogers!! D-Day Samuel Chase signed right below John Hancock I believe he was a delegate from New Hampshire. Salmon P. Chase, who was Secretary of the Treasury under Lincoln, is on the $10,000. Thomas and Aquila (brothers) owned a ship re-supplying the colonies in the mid 1620's and liked the place so much they decided to stay. A book of our family’s genealogy was printed in the 1920's. This take the family back to England and about 200 years farther, my mom took it back to just before the Norman invasion. The town my family is from was originally a Roman town in northern England. William the Bastard sacked this (and many other towns) during the pacification of England so all records going further back were lost (if indeed they existed). The family is, however, listed in William’s giant inventory of every man, woman, child and thing in England known as the 'DOOMSDAY BOOK' made about 1085. He made this inventory so he could tax the English properly! My Mother researched and reconfirmed our place in this history during the 1970's and 80's
DDAYJune6
yeah on my dads side we have the "potter" name going back to a ship that came over in 1746, but we dont know where to even look or ask for files from England, which from what I hear they kept good files so I prob would be able to go farther back. And does anyone know where I can get information about veterans in my family. My dad and uncle serverd in vietnam but i have no Idea what unit my uncle serverd in or if he won any medals??? And I have a great uncle who passed aways a few years back who drove landing craft in the pacific theatre dont know what unit he was in either, even my grandma dont know and it was her brother And my Great grandfather i found out it was the spanish american war and he won some medals I would like to find what units they were in

I never intended to put you or anyone down for your personal political beliefs. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif However, once anything is written here, it is open to debate, criticism, and the interpretation of others. It is then the responsibility of the original poster to respond, or to otherwise correct any perceived misinterpretations. That is the basis for a vigorous debate, or healthy discussion. I enjoy such exchanges, and never intentionally condescend to deride anyone. I, for one, do not think you should just sit back and read the posts here, if you feel that you have something of value to contribute, or a different point of view. Just remember to always to back your statements up with logical reasoning, and factual/ honest information. I do agree with PhilOhio, that you may want to slow down a bit, to organize your thoughts before posting, to make yourself clearer. I think that all of us are guilty of flying off the handle, from time to time, at any age or supposed maturity level. So, I am not lecturing, merely trying to offer a little bit of constructive-criticism. Sometimes we can all benefit from that. I will leave you, and all, with a nugget of wisdom from Sir Winston Churchill. He once stated that, "A young man who is not a liberal has no heart, but an old man who is not a conservative has no brain!" http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif It speaks to experience in this world, and an honest response to it. Gunner
Phil, do you reserve your contempt for those non-thinkers who fill their heads with leftist crap? What about those who unthinkingly accept every piece of rightist crap that comes along?
Gunner
Phil, you're a gentleman & a scholar -- but enough politics for now, at least for me! This is my hobby, and something I do to get away from having to worry about the problems of the world, much less running a business, etc.
