Magazine Housing Retaining Pins

What is the secret to getting them so that they hold the housing tightly against the shoulders on the housing pedestals? If I bend them enough that they have some possibility of making contact with the housing on the exit side of the hole they won't go in far enough. If I straighten them enough to go through, they won't make contact. There does not appear to be a middle ground, at least not one that I can find.

Any alternative solutions?

I looked at 6mm roll pins but they are so thick walled that they need to be installed with an arbor press and would have to be pressed out every time I clean the gun so that really is not viable.

Disregard the above. I found an older post which stated they were made from Standard #4 taper pins. That solves everything. The person who machined the pins in my gun screwed up. There is a transverse radial cut at the middle of the pin which effectively separates the large and small ends of the taper pin. The flat which rides against the mag housing flange needs only to be ground on the large end, the small end should have been left unmolested. It will clear the flange by a few thousandths. My pins have a flat ground on both ends. No amount of fiddling is going to overcome that.

Trip to Fastenal tomorrow, do some trial fitting, make up a drawing then off to the machine shop (wallet in hand)

Given the manufacturing tolerances on these guns YMMV.
