Johny
Hello everybodyI'm new here and immediately have a question about Thompson. It's about a 1927A1 from Auto-Ordnance from the 80th years.Unfortunately, I do not know the structure so well. What I noticed, however, was that a closure as in the M1A1 (with a firing pin) was installed. The loading lever is, however, like the 1928 above. As for me, the question arises, whether that was so officially made at the 1927A1, or if it is a low budget version?Furthermore, I would be interested in whether the 1927A1 frame corresponds to the 1928A1 or the M1A1?Many thanks for your help.Greeting Johny
ppgcowboy
28 and m1 frames will not match up to a 27a1 receiver. Edited March 28, 2018 by ppgcowboy

TommyTypewriterThompson
I've never seen anything like that before. It looks like some knockoff attempt, at what, I couldn't say.
StooperZero
receiver looks like it's been welded back together.

Motorcar
What country are you in? Just curious, because just looking at the pictures it appears to be a home made basement gunsmith special converted to full auto only. Of course this would be outrageously illegal in the United States, and many other countries. Your local laws may vary. I don't think you have anything that really still qualifies as a West Hurley production 1927A1....just from what I see.
shadycon
Is the trigger housing modified? FA parts removed and/or modified? Selector lever removed and hole welded up and refinished?
Motorcar
Is the trigger housing modified? FA parts removed and/or modified? Selector lever removed and hole welded up and refinished? It's a '27A1 Semi Auto trigger frame that has been modified along with other changes to be what appears to be a full auto only weapon, ILLEGAL here unless a post May dealer sample by a BATFE licensed manufacturer. I will not detail what can been seen in the pictures he posted.
Johny
The weapon is located in Switzerland. She was bought LEGAL from a gunsmith and was not modified.I suppose that because of lack of knowledge about the Thompson Gun, this was not noticed. Will in the next few days expand the trigger and post more photos. Motorcar
from a gunsmith and was not modified. Perhaps not since you got it, but it most certainly has been modified from the Semi-Auto configuration that it was built as.
