Bridgeport28A1
I am wondering how many members have a 1928 buttstock that has a US Ordnance rebuild facility cartouche stamp? I see more examples of M1 stocks marked with rebuild cartouche stamps is: MR, SAA, AAE or other inspector initials. How many 1928 rebuild stamped stocks are out there in collections? Reinforced or early non reinforced?
TSMGguy
Deleted. I had never before seen an arsenal refurbished M1928A1, and have never seen one offered for sale. Thanks, LSU! Edited March 21, 2020 by TSMGguy
LSU Tiger
This is from an old Gun Broker listing. I saved the photos for reference. This M1928A1 was refurbished and the buttstock marked "OGEK" for the Ogden, Utah arsenal with Elmer Keith's initials as inspector.
