jim c 351
Here is a picture of a black leather pouch that I have owned for years. I don't remember where I found it.On the back side it is stamped "US BLCO 1962. It holds 5 ea, 12 Ga, shotgun cartridges.I never knew its intended purpose but for years I used it to hold slugs while deer hunting. For those of you who own a copy of Bruce Canfields book "Complete Guide to US Combat Shotguns" please go to page 174.You will see a US Army MP armed with a shotgun and 45. He has a leather magazine pouch for the 45 and another Leather pouch that looks like the pouch I have posted. So,--is my pouch an MP shotshell pouch ,or was the pouch made for some other purpose and adapted by the pictured MP ?Any VN era MP's out there? Thanks for looking.Jim C
emmagee1917
I'd say real / issued item. Compare to this officer's ammo pouch also from '62 .Note construction , snap , rivets , finish .http://militaryitems.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=244_606_558&products_id=28585Chris
