Place to Shoot MP40 in WY or SD

Recommended Posts

Hello, I was wondering if anyone might know where I could shoot my MP40 in either Northern Wyoming or the Black Hills of South Dakota. I would really like to shoot it outside. Looking for when the weather gets nice. If in South Dakota would need a few weeks notice so I could fill out my 5320.20. Well, thank you for any help, leads or information. Haenelistklass

PS I am not looking for a free range. I will pay whatever fee it is. I am also an experienced shooter with about 25 years experience shooting this type of gun.

Just shoot on some BLM or Forest Circus land. Get a C&R license and you can go when you want. No forms to fill out. Edited by ppgcowboy

70% of the Bighorn basin is public land and you can shoot there. You could take Stevie Wonder there, have him shoot machineguns, and not have a problem hitting anything. I've shot in a lot places in WY and never had an issue, but I've yet to shoot at an actual range.......no need since you can set up about anywhere and not be bothered? Once in a while you have to shoo some cows off and down by Star valley (east in the mountains) we shooed some sheep away?

They might still be doing the Casper MG shoot in June again this year? I've never been, but the guys I know that do say it's excellent.

Thank you very much for the hot tip. I am about an hour or so from Buffalo so close to the Bighorns. Take care, Haenelistklasse

If you shoot on public land, just be sure to pick up the brass and trash and have your paperwork with. Which Buffalo are you about an hour away from, S.D., N.D., or WYO?
