Neat Ww2 Thompson Photo

Recommended Posts

This is a photo I found on another website that I want to share. The photo was taken sometime during the war in Italy and shows a tall, Ranger SSGT. It appears he has a 1928 Thompson, the buttstock has been removed, it's upside down and hanging from his right shoulder. Note that he's using 30 round mags in a 5-cell 20rd mag pouch. Pretty neat picture!

First time I've ever noticed 30 rounders snapped up in a 5 cell (20 rounder) pouch. Usually you see the mags hanging forward with the top straps tucked in behind.....I always thought they'd fall out easier this way. They actually look very secure with the top straps pulled around and snapped.

Cool pic.....thanks!
