New Tomy Gun, Vertical Forearm And Mag Questions

Recommended Posts

Guys I just picked up a Auto Ordinance 1927a1 this weekend at a gunshow. It has the pistol grip on it and a finned barrel. I was wondering instead of shortening the barrel could I just have someone make a vertical forearm about 4 inches loner than the normal one to give it a shorter barrel appearance? Is there anyone on here who has done this? Is there repro Kerr slings available anywhere? Will standard GI mags work in this one since its a older Auto Ordinance?

Sorry for all the questions! I am just excited about my new toy.

I would bet that Deerslayer could make a special grip for you, either vertical of horizontal, it is an intriguing idea.

If the Cutts is moved back on the barrel to make it 16” overall (legal minimum), the standard horizontal looks quite good also.

Unless your magazine catch has been modified to use GI mags, they won’t work.

A/O Kahr sells magazines for almost $60, you can get used GI XXX for about $20; definitely worth changing the mag catch. Besides, it saves the magazines so they can be used in SMG’s as well as carbines.
