The soldier may be Australian. There's a broad arrow property mark on the field ration container. There's also a filled-in sling swivel mounting inlet on the butt stock. The photo could have been taken in the Owen Stanley mountain range of New Guinea.

That is a rare American copy, possibly unlicensed, of the MP28, identified by the lack of the round button-type magazine catch on the magazine housing, its squared-off appearance, and the distinct lettering. There is a thread somewhere on here discussing it, but I cannot for the life of me find it.

I like the last photo with a couple of the 1907 Winchesters in .351 with the "high" capacity 10 round magazines. That single stack mag is a pain to load,
